Married, 1828, Anne K. Pyemont, of Tanshelf House, Pontefract. Enlarged a farmhouse on the Langton glebe into a good rectory house; erected a school, vicarage and church at Woodhall Spa. Invented a bicycle many years before such machines came into use. Died Nov. 11, 1877, of a chill caught by walking six miles in a snowstorm after a meeting at Woodhall Spa. Father of James C.
