A prisoner in France until 1795, when he obtained his freedom and was allowed to return to England. R. of Stourton, Wilts., 1790-1800. R. of Scrivelsby Lincs., for about two months in 1777. Author, Metron Ariston; etc. An excellent scholar with a reputation for wit; writer of several agreeable letters printed in Jesse's George Selwyn and his Contemporaries.
