Matric. pens. from ST CATHARINE'S, 1630. Of Yorkshire. B.A. 1634; M.A. 1638. Fellow, 1634. Doubtless the author of Vindiciae Catholicae, described in the D.N.B. (but not B.D., as stated by Lipscomb and D.N.B., or proctor). Sided at first, with the Parliament, and preached before the House of Commons [ London ], 1644. Appointed to the third portion of Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire , before 1660. Changed sides, and was appointed to the other two-thirds, in 1661. Married Susanna, dau. of William Welbore, of Cambridgeshire. Died 03 Nov., 1681, aged 75; buried at Waddesdon [ Buckinghamshire ]. M.I. there.
