Venn: Adm. sizar (age 20) at ST JOHN'S, Apr. 2, 1766. S. of John, (1738), of Carnarvonshire, Archdeacon of Merioneth [by his first wife, Lloyd, heiress of Trallwyn, near Pwllheli and of Penralt]. B. in Carnarvon. School, Bangor. ' Matric. Michs. 1766; Scholar; B.A. 1770; M.A. 1774. Probably R. of Llanystumdwy, Carnarvonshire, 1771-1811. [G. Mag., 1824, 11. 92 identifies him with the Preb. of Ripon (Mar. 20, 1802) and of Barnby, in York Cathedral (Jan. 14, 1804), and V. of Strensall and Osbaldwick, York, who died at his lodgings at York, Apr. 16, 1824, aged 71. According to Al. Oxon. this John was s. of Edward, of Turgess, Hants., gent., and matric. from Wadham College, Oxford, Apr. 8, 1772, age 18; B.A. 1776. See Richard (1777) and Manchester Grammar Sch.
