In 1778, the College contributed £100 towards the building of a new rectory at Little Wilbraham upon condition that the incumbent spent £600; during the incumbency of Mr Butts, the parish was enclosed and land allotted to the rector in lieu of tithes. Died May 19, 1806, aged 60, by the bursting of a blood vessel in his head, while driving his gig; his father and grandfather had died from the same cause. (H. P. Stokes, Wilbraham Parishes; G.
